Recommended Barefoot Shoes:
Best value: Saguaro
*Despite being by far the cheapest shoes I own, they’re my current go-to for hiking and athletic use. I recommend taking out the insole that comes inside the shoe.
Best casual shoe: Wildling Tanuki Yoru
*Probably my all-time favorite shoe and are great for pretty much anything other than aggressive hiking; the Nebula model is also a great shoe from Wildling with a more athletic appearance. These are great with or without the insole that comes in the shoe.
Best sandals: Earth Runners Primal
*Great for all uses - including hiking / running. The Circadian and Chronos models are great as well, though slightly thicker (ie a bit less ground feel and flexibility).
Honorable Mentions:
Anything from VivoBarefoot
*They’re great shoes, they’ve just never fit my feet quite right ever since my feet have gotten stronger and wider due to years of barefoot training
Anything from Vibram (5-toe shoes)
*I wore these exclusively for ~7 years and they’re still fantastic shoes, especially for spacing your toes out in the early stages of switching to barefoot shoes. I rarely wear them now only because you either have to wash them frequently or deal with putting on toe socks every time you wear them.
Tadeevo (specifically the Bliss model since I haven’t tried the others)
*These might be my all time favorite if they were slightly wider; due to not being quite wide enough (at least for me), both times I’ve bought these they’ve felt absolutely amazing for a couple months and then torn wide open across the outer edges.
